I’ve posted these before, but now that tumblr’s got a much better imaging system, they’re not weirdly-sized and HTML-unfriendly.
It’s National Suicide Prevention Week, and every message I’ve gotten from this comic in particular means a lot to me. It was strange to share. It’s strange to think it’s still out there, reaching people I’ll never meet. I wish I could see some of the reactions, be there with people to talk to them about it. To listen.
My advice, on this very serious but very important topic, is to talk to somebody. That’s my only suggestion. Whether you’re a current or former cutter, struggle with eating disorders or depression, someone who struggles with anxiety or self-doubt, talk to someone. It won’t always work, but keep trying. Keep trying. We’re all in this together.
I wish I could say all this without sounding like an after-school special. I mean it all, if that counts for anything.
